    • “Doesn’t report to personal credit” does not answer the whole business-credit question.

If you are exploring a 0% business card or line of credit, separate three questions: Will the application involve a personal hard inquiry? Will you personally guarantee the debt? Will ordinary balances or payment activity report to your personal credit? These are different mechanics.

Some business products may keep ordinary utilization off personal reports while still involving a personal guarantee or inquiry. Delinquency or default may be treated differently. Verify the exact product with its issuer; a blanket claim about a bank is not enough.

Before you spend an inquiry, ask:
      1. Which consumer or business reports may be checked, and is the inquiry hard or soft?
      2. Is a personal guarantee required?
      3. What ordinary activity is reported, to which bureaus, and what changes after delinquency or default?
      4. What does any promotional rate cover, when does it end, and what rate and fees follow?
      5. What payment and repayment plan can the business sustain?

A $50K, $100K or larger capital goal deserves this level of detail. The ambition is yours; the lender’s decision and amount are not promised. The strategy is understanding the conditions before choosing a product or application sequence.

Put it to work: use the banker conversation on page 15 and funding-purpose worksheet on page 17 of the Credit & Funding Playbook. Record the product, source, date and unresolved questions.

Discussion: which distinction was missing from the last business-credit tip you heard? Share the general question, not private statements or application documents.
